Before seeing Christina I was wearing an 1/8″ lift in my right shoe, as a previous physical therapist told me my right left was shorter than my left leg, causing the constant, nagging, fatigue in my right glute muscles. Eventually, the lift no longer worked, and the right glute fatigue returned.
In addition, I was wearing custom orthotics from a podiatrist to help remedy previous plantar fasciitis. My feet would ache if I walked too long without wearing the orthotics (e.g. flip-flops or barefoot).
I initially came to see Christina to address the right glute fatigue, the bunion on my right foot, and to see what else you would find. Christina’s assessments forced me to really think about my body and how it’s feeling, where I was able to identify the lower back fatigue as well. I hadn’t really thought about the lower back fatigue as something that needed to be addressed. I just dismissed it as “this is the way my body feels at this age.”
I didn’t find any activities particularly challenging. I could still do everything, but my right glute and lower back would fatigue after walking/standing at length, and my bunion would hurt while walking.
After, with all the exercises I learned from Christina, I no longer wear the shoe lift. I still wear my custom orthotics, but do not need them all the time (e.g. I can wear flip-flops or go barefoot), and my feet no longer ache. The way you had me focus on how my foot landed and followed through has helped me strengthen my foot and ankle muscles. Also, by not shifting my weight to avoid my bunion, but following through as Christina taught me, as well as the hip/glute opening/strengthening exercises, my right glute fatigue is negligible. If I notice anything, I refocus to make sure I’m walking “correctly” and it goes away. Also, tucking my pelvis has also gotten rid of the lower back fatigue. I can stand at my standing desk all day now.
So, my aches and pains weren’t that bad before, maybe 10%?, but it’s great to know I don’t have to live that way. I CAN do something about it. Now, I’d say 0%-1%, and only 1% when I forget to focus on what I learned in four sessions.

Following surgery for a torn bicep tendon/rotator cuff/labrum repair, and months of Physical Therapy, I was still having issues with mild pain and not having full range of motion.  That is until I found Christina.  With her help, including hands on work in her studio along with exercices she taught me to do at home, I was able to return to all of the activities I enjoy and do so with no limitations or concern.  Kayaking, SUPing, mtn biking, rock climbing have been both the test and the proof of Christina’s excellent care.

Over the course of many years, I have suffered from intermittent sciatica, hip and lower back pain, despite two MRI’s that showed no disc complications.  Christina is the third therapist from whom I’ve received treatment, yet she is the first to identify and treat the root of the problem.  She used several unique modalities to do this: neurokinetic therapy and muscle testing to locate the pain source (even when I can’t exactly put my finger on it) and myofascial active release which provided me with nearly immediate relief.  Further, Christina has assessed my gait patterns with a technique called anatomy in motion, to see where I get pain when I walk and provided me with specific yoga tune up exercises .  I now have fewer flare ups, and when they do occur, I experience only mild discomfort instead of the acute pain I once felt.  Christina and I continue to work together to improve my functional movement.

I reached out to Christina for issues related to sciatica pain and a strained left hip flexor/groin. An infuriating injury. At the time of our first visit it had been 3 months since I was last able to perform in the arenas of rock climbing, hiking and surfing. I was 1 month into physical therapy and although I was getting some relief from the pain I was still at 50% and unable to return to my normal activity level. Christina’s experience and certification in level 3 NeuroKinetic Therapy along with her intuitive touch, incorporated a whole body approach and quickly set me on the fast track to recovery. Working from the feet up she utilized muscle testing techniques to find under-active and overactive muscle groups. Used active release techniques and manual manipulation to release bound up muscles and fascia. And most importantly gave me exercises and self care to retrain my mind-body connection. Over the course of 1 month and 3 visits I experienced great improvements in mobility, pain relief and body awareness. I am now at 85% of my normal activity level and continually optimistic about my recovery.

“For several months, I have experienced an intense amount of pain in my lower back that was holding me back from practicing yoga and running-two things I love! I felt grumpy and stuck not to be able to do what I wanted and no other treatments were working (including resting, chiropractic, massage). Christina gave me a few simple exercises to help improve the mobility and stability in my feet and ankles and has alleviated intense pain in my lower back. I’m now back to practicing yoga and running daily and my spirit is in a much happier place.”

Christina is amazing! I had been experiencing severe back spasms since August caused by a spinal injury 2 years ago. They were debilitating and confusing- Christina helped me understand how my body was reacting to my injury and used manual movement to “unstick” fascial tension in my muscles. She also gave great homework exercises to incorporate into my daily life that sped up my healing process. I saw her 8 times and am so thankful to say that I am 90% healed. If you’re experiencing pain, she is a wonderful human with a wealth of knowledge to help you out!

I have been dealing with hip pain for a little over a year. Christina took sufficient time isolating the injury before quickly jumping to the final prognosis. We worked together for about 2 months to increase my range of motion, diminish my pain. Once we had worked through several rounds of testing she gave clear instructions for treatment and stretching, along with an explanation for any additional questions I had. From start to finish I would say I improved 90% and that is with the self care she gave me with doing my own self care. Would highly recommend to anyone!
